Our History and Awards
The
wine company Giordano operates from several decades in
Vittoria [Ragusa], an area famous for a great vineyard tradition,
at first under the guide of Gaetano Giordano and now of the son
Calò Giordano, graduated wine steward in 1965 at the Agrarian
Institute of Marsala and agronomist graduated at the Faculty of
Agrarian Sciences of Pisa in 1970.

Since then he has begun to collect rare or particular wines, that,
still today, reserves only to the more intimate friends [on the
left a bottle of "FLORIO", a Marsala
of 1912, masterpiece of the collection of Calò Giordano].
Calò has always chosen to operate between the Sicily and
the Tuscany where he has been taken care of the protection of typical
products.
In the 1973 Gaetano Giordano obtained the DOC's certification and
for first produced and bottled the Cesaruolo di Vittoria DOC
in the 1974.
In those years he has begun to
produce a wine with a pure kind of a nearly unknown grape, traditional
and typical of the zone of Vittoria: the Frappato. The
Mediterranean taste characteristics, the aging in oak barrel, the
choice of the wines that are produced only in some traditional contrades
with particular terroir and microclimate, makes Giordano winers
eligible for a lot of international awards:
